Rascom I.T. believe that many businesses do not require an all-singing, all-dancing internet presence.  We believe that many people wish to use the internet as an informational tool for prospective customers to view their products and services but, like us, prefer to deal directly with customers to understand their requirements rather than just acting as faceless individuals.

Our motto "simple solutions in a complicated world" sums up our web services in a nutshell.  We offer a basic design service, including hosting, giving our customers simple, easy-to-use websites without the expense of flashy graphics and animations which usually only serve to distract customers rather than draw them in further. 

Our basic website package starts from £399.99 ex VAT.  This includes the design of up to ten pages and a range of other services including multiple email accounts, usage statistics and, in some cases, scripting facilities.  We turn copy and content provided by the customer into a fully-functioning website in a short space of time giving you a quick online presence.  We optimise all of the pages for search engine compatibility including meta-tag descriptions, keywords, robots and more. This process is one that is ignored by so many site designers - if you don't have the right keywords, descriptions and other search engine options then your website is unlikely to be found easily.  We include all of this as standard (as well as custom error pages and redirects if required).

Rascom I.T. We're very picky when it comes to website designs and the one you are currently looking at is actually our fifth redesign in four years!  A business' Internet presence should also be checked to make sure it is up-to-date and a site that remains static for long periods of time sometimes results in lower rankings on search engines.

Touchscreens Direct Following increased demand for our touchscreen products, we launched a new website dedicated to the sale and supply of touchscreen monitors and components in March 2005.  Likewise with our main website, the layout and content have all been designed in-house, with the exception of any product images used which have been taken from the original manufacturer source.

Room 512 An unofficial website and interactive messageboard for the indie/rock group The Wonder Stuff.  The site took on renewed interest in 2006 following the reformation of the group, the release of new material and media interest in the 20th anniversary of the group's original formation. Rascom I.T. have also helped to finance the release of a special charity album featuring previously unreleased work by Martin Gilks, one of The Wonder Stuff's former group members who died in a road accident in 2006.  All profits from the album have been donated to a charity selected by Mr. Gilks' family.

The Wonder Stuff As a result of our work on the unofficial website for The Wonder Stuff, we were asked by members of the group and their record company to breath new some life into their original site and redesign it for 2008 to coincide with some forthcoming releases. The site has been designed in a mixture of HTML and real-time PHP files so that pages can be updated easily and also includes a real-time news feed which can be referenced by other website. An online shop was also added along with a JavaScript-based image gallery.

Little Acorns Childminding Group Little Acorns are a local (Calne-based) childminding group supporting the needs of local childminders and parents by providing support and resources for the childminders and a variety of information and assistance in choosing a childminder for parents.

Dove BMW & Dove Racing We have worked with Dove BMW for a number of years and, in addition to supplying and maintaining their computer systems, also took over the design and maintenance of their website in 2005.  The site was initially jointly designed by Rascom I.T. and Sanders Creative with subsequent updates, maintenance  and design changes handled solely by Rascom I.T. Dove BMW are one of the UK's largest wholesale dealers of used BMW vehicles and other top marques such as Mercedes, Audi, Lexus, Jaguar, Land Rover, Range Rover, Porsche, Ferrari and many more.

Calne Chamber of Commerce We approached our local Chamber of Commerce in April 2005 as the Chamber had no online presence which meant that prospective members and businesses looking to move/expand in the area had relatively little point of contact for information and resources.  Rascom I.T. are members of the Calne Chamber of Commerce and would encourage other businesses in the area to consider joining as the Chamber works on behalf of all of Calne and it's surrounding areas. A new Chamber website was launched in March 2008.

Europa Trade Sales Established in 2001, Europa Trade Sales advertise regularly in the major National Press.  They specialise in buying used BMW's and supplying them to the motor trade.  The business is very successful but was being let down by a very basic website consisting of only a couple of pages - a home page and an enquiry form. Having provided IT services to Europa Trade Sales for almost four years - we discussed their website requirements and went on to develop a totally new site for them which was not only more professional-looking but was also properly optimised for search engines with the use of keywords, page titling etc.

Independent Records IRL are a record company and artist management agency based in London.  We know them as a result of the Room 512 website as they release Wonder Stuff albums and manage one of the group members.  We offered a hand in November 2006 when they needed a website template designing quickly that they could easily update themselves.  Since then, we have completely redesigned the site and made it more functional including the addition of an online shop utilising the PayPal online payment system.

Robin Butler Engineering We have been working with this customer for a number of months of redesigning their website.  Previously their site was designed and hosted by another company but this should never be seen as a barrier as site transfers are normally a very simple process. For this site, we have utilised the functionality of our web design tools to include an online interactive picture gallery so that visitors can see a wide range of the products that Robin Butler Engineering are capable of producing.

Highwood Joinery After a long period of supporting the company's computer systems, Highwood contacted us for assistance with their website.  They wanted us to design a new website from scratch yet try to retain a feel of the design from the original site as the original data files are not available.  This project was completed in March 2007.

Calne Heritage Centre We originally began working with our local Heritage Centre in April 2005 to develop two interactive public-access touchscreen systems to build upon the existing content of the Centre.  One system shows how the town has evolved over that past 50 years in pictorial format, the other incorporates the use of videos to show archive footage of the town and it's development.  Both projects have been created using web-oriented and multimedia-based services. Their new website was launched in July 2006 which will be the beginning of a much larger project to provide more information about the heritage of our town with the gradual inclusion of online historical information about Calne and it's surrounding areas in addition to an online shipping facility for books, photographs and other memorabilia relevant to the area.  The launch of the new website also coincides with a new interactive mapping system we have provided to the Centre which graphically depicts how the town has grown during the past 1000 years.

Trend Tracker We have performed a variety of web-based services for Trend Tracker from amendments to the site's original design to ad-hoc maintenance and training.  We were also initially responsible for providing hosting and domain administration services.  Rascom I.T. have supplied hardware and I.T. support services to Trend Tracker employees.

KP Transport Our remit for the KP Transport website was to create a simple site that would provide the business with a viable internet presence yet not be too costly.  We have used the company's logo to specifically brand the site and created a simple, but effective, information site.

CBOC Lubricants As a global trader, CBOC wanted a website that was functional to use yet not necessarily limited to UK interests.  We have combined an attractive site with a custom-designed Javascript menu system making the site very easy to navigate around.  The website went live in the Summer of 2006.

Other Moxhams Antiques We assisted Moxhams Antiques, based in Bradford On Avon, in 2006 by optimizing their website for search engine indexing and also designing script-based navigation.
