About Me

Rascom I.T. was originally formed in 2003 as a family business in Calne, Wiltshire.  Sixteen years later, the business is now solely owned and run by myself, Robert Stokes.

I have worked in IT support since leaving college in the 1990's, working in a range of environments including engineering, retail, communications and the automotive industry.  Not only do I work with customers from the local community and in local businesses, as well as maintaining excellent business relationships with my previous customers in and around the Wiltshire area, but I still provide I.T. services to some of the former employees and subsequent start-up companies of businesses I have previously worked at.

 

I relocated to Emsworth, Hampshire in October 2015 with my children and opened up an office in Emsworth in May 2016 to work with and support local businesses and home users.

I also run another business, Touchscreens Direct, which sells interactive products (touchscreen hardware) to businesses all around the world and in 2019 I decided to merge the two businesses rather than continue to run them as separate entities to reduce overheads and also combine the buying power of both businesses to be able to offer my customers better value for money.

My business philosophy is simple - I want to provide the best value services for all of my customers - home and business.  I aim to offer the most cost-effective solution to all problems, and also advise of possible alternatives, but prefer to recommend the solution which is the most cost-effective for my customer rather than the one which would benefit me greater financially.  In my experience, happy customers will refer and recommend you to others, as well as coming back for repeat business.


Having been in business since 2003, the vast majority of my work now comes from word-of-mouth recommendations and referrals from existing customers as a result of my local business reputation.  The world of I.T. sales, services and support can be a minefield and it is very difficult to pick someone to work with and support your own systems just from a simple Internet search or a scan of a telephone directory or business listing.  I am confident that my business reputation speaks for itself - I still work with many of the customers who started using my services when I started the business back in 2003.


I am confident that Rascom I.T. can provide both functional and cost benefits to all of my clients – whether the requirement is for a single machine, multiple units, ad-hoc service requirements or corporate maintenance and support.


I supply high-quality computer products and services to businesses, home users, charity groups, schools and colleges throughout the UK although my primary customer base is in Wiltshire, Hampshire, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and the Midlands.
