Replacement power supplies |
One
of the commonest repairs we undertake - a faulty or
blown power supply in your desktop or laptop computer.
DESKTOPS
We can supply and fit a replacement power supply for
just £49.99 inc VAT. We have a range in
stock to fit current and older systems. For standard
MicroATX-based systems, we only use high-quality, low-noise
high-wattage units to provide your system with the maximum
power throughput without compromising on noise levels.
LAPTOPS
We can supply original or compatible adapters starting
from £44.99 inc VAT. Please

depending on laptop manufacturer and the age of the
machine.

hard disk has failed or you simply need more storage

Replacement hard disk drives
for laptops |
To
expand the storage capacity of your laptop computer,
it may be possible to replace your existing hard
disk with one of a larger capacity. Unlike
desktop systems, laptops only have space for a
single disk drive so we have to 'clone' your
existing drive onto the new hard disk and therefore
our prices reflect the additional work involved.

(older systems)
As IDE-style drives are older technology, stocks

We do not
recommend the use of larger capacities at this
time due to hardware limitations on many
systems.

Memory upgrades |
When the computer is starting
to run out of steam, a memory upgrade is usually a good
way of giving it a little boost without the need for
costly replacements of processors and motherboards.
An additional 1Gb upgrade
for desktop and laptops system cost just £39.99 inc VAT and fitting.
Memory for older systems (DDR1) costs £49.99 inc
VAT and fitting per gigabyte although most
systems using original DDR1 memory will only take a
maximum of 2Gb in total anyway.
32-bit operating
systems will not recognise anything above 3Gb in
total anyway so we do not recommend the upgrade or
installation of memory above this level.
64-bit operating
systems have a limit of 16Gb of Home versions of the
operating system or 192Gb for business editions of
the software although most motherboards are
currently limited to between 4Gb and 16Gb.
